  1. Rolling from Flagstaff, AZ through Prescott N.F. on 89A/89 is pretty amazing. Not to mention the Zion-MtCarmel Hwy in Utah. Wow!

  2. Hi,

I love your writing on 11 BEST MOTORCYCLE RIDES FOR YOUR BUCKET LIST. Your post is very much helpful and informative. Keep up the good work and present us your best.

    Regards

  3. I would definitely do all of them, but not on a motorcycle though (can you hear a chicken nearby? yeah, that’s me haha). But the roads are spectacular and they deserve a visit by car. Have friends that are motorcycle fans and will forward this to them though, maybe I’ll spark some joy under a helmet or two.

  4. Thank you for a wonderful list with great photos. I’ve been on a few of them already and loved them. Now I’ve got even more to drive on but I’ll take the convertible option I think.

  5. Great list – I would love to drive them in a car, and now I have a great list of wonderful roads to visit. Thank you for sharing. And for your advice to try them in a convertible instead.

  6. You know how you have an anti-bucket list. I do too and any sort of motorcycle ride would be on it. They scare the crud out of me. If I did one, PCH would be it though.

  7. Great list, thanks for sharing. I wish I was brave to ride a motorcycle. Your pictures make me want to visit all those places but I would have to drive there.

  8. Like how you chose such a diverse group of rides, from the beautiful California route to that interesting looking bridge on the Natchez route. Goes to show how many options there are around the US. Pacific Coast Highway may be the most iconic ride of all!

    1. Yeah, it is truly an amazing & diverse landscape we have here on the North American Continent! I love how there is so many different types of environments that one could see in a simple road trip across the country!

    2. I took my Porsche 914 up the PCH with my pregnant wife when I was in the Navy, very awesome drive. It is a magnificent drive. One day I will take the bike, alone, it is on my list. Tail of the Dragon (Deals Gap), and the Wolfs Gap in Georgia (not on this list) are this month on the bike. The Appalachian Highway is this summer. I have ridden the west cost, mid west, southwest, and the southern states. Nothing beats the Carolinas, Virginias and Georgia.
KEEP THE RUBBER DOWN, CHROME UP!

      1. Love it Sean! I had not heard of the Wolfs Gap in Georgia and am meeting with some of my riding friends this week over cigars & whisky so I will have to ask them what they think of it.

  9. I can’t ride a motorcycle but i do start to enjoy road trips (in a car). Love coastal roads so my favourites from your list are definitely Pacific Highway and the one in Maine ! =)

  10. To be totally honest, we don’t like motorcycles since we both had accidents and have friends who died from motorcycle accidents. That being said, we love long road trips, especially in the USA (Americans really have a road trip culture!) – but with a car. 😉 The Pacific Highway 1 is among our favorite routes. Now we’re adding the one in Maine to our bucket list, mainly because of the seafood! Hehe..

  11. When I try to remember riding on a motorcycle, it takes me back to my childhood when my dad would drop me off to school on a bike. I absolutely loved feeling the wind blowing across my face back then and so can imagine how thrilling it must be to take a road trip across America on a bike. Being a SF Bay Area resident, I always love taking the coastal route along CA-1 on a clear day whenever we can manage just to be able to get out there and enjoy the stunning views – what a thrill it must be to do so on a bike as well.
Glad I came across this post as I hadn’t heard about several of the scenic routes you’ve mentioned. That view of the bridge along Natchez Trace Parkway is amazing. Not sure if I’ll be able to travel these routes on a bike though but I’m so tempted to drive along some of these in a convertible for sure!

  12. Great list, and totally agree about Pacific Coast Highway and the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier NP. I would probably add Route 66 and going to Monument Valley – we rented a Harley for that trip, what an experience! Our visit to Maine was with a car rental but I would not mind doing it again on a bike! We have been renting motorbikes in a few other countries as well, a pretty cool way to explore for sure.

    1. Yeah we thought about adding the Famous Route 66 but there is a lot of Car traffic along the route. Plus, when we created the Bucket List Project, we added explore the entire Route 66 already. But in our mind, we imagined it would be a lot more fun in a 427 AC convertible Shelby Cobra. Of course, I would have to win the lottery to get a real 427 AC Cobra, but I wouldn’t mind doing it in a kit car copy or even perhaps in a 1965 Candy Apple Red Convertible Mustang all “Ponied” out inside!

  13. The Beartooth Highway looks epic and you could stop off at Yellowstone Park which I’ve never visitied. Looks like you get the best of the views on the Natchez Trace Parkway trail, one to remember! The Coastal Route 1 would be great to stop off at the Nubble Lighthouse. I’d love to hit the open road on a bike taking in some of these US trails, some great recommendations.

  14. I have been on several bike rides in India but never rode in any foreign place. Would definitely want to try out in USA sometime as the roads are quite good to ride on. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  15. I’m a bit terrified to hop on the back of a motorbike, but I love this collection of roads for car road trip ideas. My pick of the list would have to be ‘Going to the Sun Road.’ I can see how these drives are a bikers dream, with all of the twists and turns. You’d feel so free!

  16. This is such a great collection of roads! Not a biker here, but these trips look so incredible. I’ve always wanted to experience the Pacific Coast Highway – that would be my #1, but there’s so many great ideas!

  17. I’m living in Ho Chi Minh City and I’m pretty terrified of riding a motorbike or scooter due to the intense traffic and the terrible drivers. If you visit Vietnam in the future, a popular motorbike route is from North Vietnam (Hanoi area) to South Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh). Out of the ones on your list, I’ve only done the Pacific Coast Highway by car. I would be interested in Sun Road since it is gorgeous with the mountain range. When I return to the U.S. I need to check out the other routes for a future road trip.

    1. After driving a tuk tuk, across India, I can only imagine how crazy riding a motorcycle in certain Asian countries would be! But I will say that riding a motorcycle across Vietnam is another iconic bucket list type thing

  18. I have been on a few of these, but there are also others that I have never heard of! I’ll definitely be sharing this with my Aussie fiance to let him take his pick out of the bunch for when we go to the US next. 🙂

  19. I have been on a few of these, but there are also others that I have never heard of! I’ll definitely be sharing this with my Aussie fiance to let him take his pick out of the bunch for when we go to the US next. 🙂

  20. I certainly won’t be doing any of these trips by motorcycle, but I will be pinning to do them all by car eventually. The Pacific Coast Highway is on my bucketlist, as well as the trip to Maine (although I would be coming from Canada). Thanks for this. I love it!
