While I do love my country and view her beauty (and warts) through the unique lens of a military brat, I haven’t felt that patriotic the past few years. One thing that really helped me navigate the darkness of 2020 (especially these past few months) was reading Dan Rather’s book, “What Unites Us.” It gives me hope that my fellow country(wo)men can find common ground and move forward together.
