Spend a morning discovering the expansive Kings Park and Botanic Garden. A green space even bigger than New York’s Central Park. Here you’ll also find several interesting memorials to commemorate the Second World War and women’s suffrage among lots of others.
Head to Swan Valley where you can pass a day on the banks of the river or visiting the wineries, local food producers and growers. You may need a car to get around to all of them, so check out Car Rentals in Perth.
You can’t miss the Bell Tower with its 12 bells pealing and a viewing platform that gives you a 360 degree view of the city and in particular the Central Business District.
Finally, consider a trip to the Fremantle Prison, featured as a World Heritage Site. It was originally used to house convicts who had been transported from Britain around 1886 before they were put to work on the land. The prison held both white convicts and Aboriginal people and much work has been done to tell the story of those prisoners.
