The Dominican Dream
The Dominican Republic is part of the Caribbean nation, and is a set on an island of which it shares with Haiti. The Dominican half of the island is the one that gets all of the attention, and for good reason. It’s split into two tourist parts, one being Punta Cana, and the other being La Romana. The most popular is Punta Cana, but we definitely would recommend checking out both to find your favorite! You’ll find it somewhere between Venezuela and America, yet such a tiny island between two massive countries stands out so much. It’s still not as mainstream as other parts of the world, with the popularity still remaining at a lovely level, meaning that in high seasons, you wouldn’t find the crowds to be as large as if you would if you went to Mexico, for example. But to be honest, we’re not sure why it’s not one of the most visited parts of the world, because it’s outstanding landscape, weather, locals, and vibe is definitely one of the best in the world. You’ll often find a lot of Americans fly over for their summer break, but it is also becoming more popular with the UK and other parts of the world. It’s the reasons behind this growing popularity that we want to explore, because we know that if you head to the Dominican republic, you really will have a dream like holiday. So sit back, sip a nice cold drink, and let us take you on the Dominican dream journey!

Ok, so we know that the flight time differs from country to country, but as a rule, you’re never really going to be bothered about the travelling, when you know you have such a luxurious island that you’re heading to. So, if you’re travelling from Florida for example, your flight time would only be 2 hours and 21 minutes. However, if you’re flying from the UK, you can expect to be in the air for around 9 hours or longer. But even on a long haul flight, by the time you’ve had your meal and watched a film or too, you’ll have only a short time to try and get some shut eye before you’ll be landing. And what’s better, the prices of a two week all inclusive break here are just so cheap compared to other European break, or anywhere else for that matter. So if you’re looking for a cheap holiday, easy travelling, and one of the best holidays in the world, you should definitely take a look at some prices now!
The Dominican Vibe
The Dominican vibe is very Caribbean, and that’s something that we totally love about this place. It’s relaxed, it’s laid back, and it is full of cocktails. Pretty much everyone you meet is going to be full of life and happiness, and the joy that brings you whilst being in such a beautiful place is just too much! Even if you can’t feel the vibe of the country, you should still be able to find your place of peace, whilst lying on a beach cabana, sipping whatever cocktail you please. Surrounding you will be the whitest of sand, the warmest of suns, and water so blue that it looks like something out of a picture. The beaches or the hotels are where you’ll find most of the action, with the hotels being more like little villages… which we’ll come onto explain in the next section. But on both sides of the coin, you should find beautiful places to relax and truly enjoy yourself!
The Crazy Hotels
There definitely are some crazy hotels in the Dominican, in fact, pretty much every single hotel is the same, and if you ever find yourself bored, then you definitely aren’t making the most of it. Some of them are so big, that buggies are going around all of the time to transport guests from one side of the hotel to the other. But they’re never really stacked up huge hotels, so you won’t feel like you’re in one big block surrounded by everyone. You will however, find some of the best dining and drinking scene ever. Most hotels have four restaurants with many having double or more. Bars are always found in abundance, so you’ll never be bored of things to do. All inclusive really does meal all inclusive here, so you should have a variety of food options each night. Pretty much all have a beach front location as well, offer activities such as snorkeling, kayaking amongst many others.
The Wild Things You Can Do
The best thing about the Dominican, is that you really can have the best of both worlds. You can either have the relaxation of the beach, or you can go and do some of the crazy things the Dominican has to offer. From nature adventure parks, to swimming with dolphins, to buggies in Punta Cana. So if you need to, you definitely can get out and about and do something that will give you a thrill. But we highly recommend that you spread your time equally, making the most of the amazing adventures the island offers, but don’t forget to truly take some time to enjoy this islands beauty by relaxing on the beaches! There’s also a Coco Bongos that’s a big hit with guests, and all inclusive packages are not too badly priced!
The Things To Watch Out For
This infectious island will have you hooked, and we know that you’ll want to come back at some point in your life. But like with all countries, there are still some things to be careful of. Crime is relatively low in the Dominican, but it does happen. So try to stick to your hotel, the beaches, and any organized trips. It doesn’t mean you won’t be able to explore the island, but this way is just safer!
The weather is simply amazing, but the sun in the Dominican is so strong, yet the breeze might make you feel otherwise. So make sure you’re stocking up on high factor sun cream to give you a golden tan, rather than turning you red raw for a few days! The heat obviously means humidity, which can really hydrate you if you’re not important. Take advantage of the beautiful smoothies, tropical drinks, coconuts, and fresh water that you’ll find everywhere in the Dominican Republic!
So with it’s outstanding landscape, weather, locals, & laid back vibe, it’s easy to see why you will want to add a Dominican Dream Journey to your Bucket List! Have you ever been to the Dominican Republic before? Did you explore the beaches? Let us know all about it in the comments below!
