Looks like Brighton’s getting added to my list now! So much to see and do in the UK. Was our last trip pre-quarantine. I cry.
I really want to explore more of Britain beyond London, which I have been twice to. Brighton was never on my list and I knew zero about. until now 🙂
Yeah there is so much to do outside of London that you almost need a dedicated trip per zone alone!
I liked Brighton when I visited years ago. It’s just a lovely little beach town. I even have a photo of the old pier!
That is awesome! I hope to take Darcee there in the next couple of years cause she loves old Piers and Ferris Wheels!
Having never been to the UK yet, I am really wanting to go ASAP! I am hoping to do an extended Europe trip maybe in 2021 or 2022, so I’ll definitely keep Brighton in mind for that! The waterfront just looks so pretty. And like you said, I definitely plan to do more than just London when I finally do make it.
You will love it there, dont get me wrong, London is really cool but there is tons to do all around the U.K. too!
I visited London at least 3 times. I have to honestly say I never really favour it because it is always pouring when I’m there ! The beaches at Brighton looks fun and bright ! I should check it out the next time I visit London ! =)
Yeah, I can see why the London weather may put someone off! We were so lucky to have little fog and rain when we visited but it seems that the closer you get to the southern and western coasts of the U.K. the better potential for nicer weather!
I’ve never been to Brighton but funnily enough I’ve been to about 5 different places named after it in heaps of different countries!! I’ve always wanted to visit the original but never got around to it, but maybe being stuck in the UK we finally will!
How bizarre, what other places or where were these other places also name Brighton?
I remember Brighton from many years ago when I visited the UK to learn English. It was a bit grey and foggy, even in summer. However, the pier and the beach are so quintessentially English, I would be very happy to go back when I can travel again…
We will have to keep an eye out for the weather so you can finally see the beautiful sun when you return to Brighton Beach
I’ve always wanted to visit Brighton! I used to want to study there for some time because it looked so beautiful and unique. I must plan a trip once all this clears up!
that would have been cool to study there, though I might never have gone to school with all the fun stuff to do around town!
Brighton does sound like a great alternative to London. I’ve been to London almost 10 years ago and unfortunately even though it was during summer (July), I was greeted by rains, which I’ve been told, is very typical. But we did have a few bright and sunny days too and I’d love to spend those at a lovely beach in Brighton. Good to know they have good nightlife too and shopping is definitely a plus!
Yeah we actually loved our time in London too but a side trip for a few days to Brighton or other parts of the UK once Lockdown is over definitely sounds like a good plan! So much more to see all over the British Island!
I was able to visit Brighton years ago with my mother so she could show me where she had gone to school as a young girl. All we really had a chance to do is stop by the school and visit the pier. I obviously, definitely need to make another trip back there to explore it more!
wow, that is really cool that you got to see where your mom went to school. It is always so cool to explore places where our parents or other ancestors lived or played!
I am certainly doing some planning for future trips. It is good to remind people that UK is much more than London. I must admit we have seen too little of the UK. Brighton certainly brings to mind “beaches”. But it seems like there is a little bit for everyone. I would absolutely want to see a city with art running in its veins!
Yeah, it is hard not to just spend your entire vacation in London if you are visiting England for the first or even the fifth time. But Brighton has so much to offer and we definitely recommend visiting Brighton Beach and other parts of the UK once lockdown is over!
